A HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEKEND EVENT IS THE FESTIVAL SUNDAY WORSHIP

Consistent with its tradition of presenting special music celebrating the arts on the Sunday of the Festival, Nativity is honored to host the inspiring music of "Joyful Noise" from Grace Episcopal Church in Southgate, which will enliven the  2011 Festival's Sunday Worship and Liturgy.

This year's Sunday Worship will feature innovative and celebrative worship, celebrating the creativity that lies within each of us.

This "Coffee Filter" Dress will be on display at the Festival.

EDUCATION IS PART OF MISSION

Art is always evolving.  Art as therapy, multi-cultural hybrids, participation-installation, mobile and virtual electronic art are all new emergences.  The summer showcase at the Concours d’Elegance at the Inn at St. Johns in Plymouth proved that machines can even be classical art.

Over the years my former colleague at Wayne State, Jane Hooper, put so much energy here at Nativity.  To salute her legacy we are displaying a current student’s ‘Going- Green’ creation, “The Coffee Filter Dress.”  Erica Woodliff constructed a hand painted garment from coffee filters.  This ‘Art to Wear’ is just one example of expression that will include the integration of all elements of our environment, natural and manmade.
